MMT TEXTILES LIMITED WAS INCORPORATED IN JANUARY, 2009. THE COMPANY HOLDS THE IP & PATENT RIGHTS TO AN INNOVATIVE NEW TEXTILE TECHNOLOGY INSPIRED BY THE NATURAL RESPONSE OF PINE CONES TO HUMIDITY IN THE CLIMATE.

INOTEK™ bi-component fibres are designed to react when exposed to elevated levels of relative humidity in a micro-climate.

INOTEK™ fibres “close” when conditions in the micro-climate are damp
& “open” when conditions are dry, known as “the pine cone effect”.

INOTEK™ fibres are formed into INOTEK™ yarns and textiles utilising standard spinning, knitting and weaving production processes.

When in yarn form, the closing of the fibres create microscopic air pockets in the textile. This results in considerable and measurable changes to air permeability that significantly enhances user comfort.

MMT have also combined INOTEK™ fibres with other “non-active” fibres or treatments to produce yarns and textiles that maintain the aforementioned characteristics and add other benefits (for example, moisture wicking or odour prevention).

REVERSIBLE
RESPONSE

The reactive response to humidity is reversible with INOTEK™ fibres reverting back to their original state once conditions in the
micro-climate normalise.

The consumer benefit is that wearers stay dry for longer as INOTEK™ textiles become more permeable to air before the point of fabric saturation. Wearers also get dry quicker as the improved breathability significantly helps manage the moisture content in the micro-climate.

Comfort is improved as it has been proven that discomfort is a function of “wetness”, particularly when the wearer moves from hot to cold external temperatures or is involved in physical activity in extreme conditions.

BUSINESS
MODEL

MMT´s business model is to license Intellectual Property and Patents in INOTEK™ to development partners who will produce and market ranges of textiles and finished products according to their agreed product categories in their pre-defined international territories. MMT feel that this is the best way to get product to market given the significant number of product categories that can benefit from the technology.

MMT currently has development agreements in place with major textile companies and further public announcements will follow imminently.
